This September, MOMU Garden will open its gates to all visitors on 12–13 September to celebrate the European Heritage Days.

The theme of the 2026 European Heritage Days is "Heritage at Risk: Revive, Resist, Reimagine."

Our cultural heritage is much more than historic buildings and objects. It also includes stories, gardens, landscapes, traditions, skills, and the shared memories of communities. Today, heritage is increasingly affected by climate change, urbanisation, technological developments, and social change, making its preservation more important than ever.

This year's theme invites us to recognise, appreciate, and revive both our tangible and intangible heritage. Heritage does not belong only to the past—it is a living part of our present and of what we choose to pass on to future generations.

MOMU Garden and the story of the Ellamaa Power Plant are also examples of how historic places can find new life by bringing together history, nature, and contemporary creativity.
